Another great trip with the toyota120 guys. This time we met up 30 minutes north of Kernville at the Fairview campground right next to the Kern River. Saturday morning we headed on up to the Sherman Pass 4×4 Trail. What a great trail! We enjoyed some lunch near the peak and then headed down the other side, meandering through the trees till we hit road again. After we stopped for a fire permit at the Black Rock station, we drove up to the Monache Meadows trail. After zigzagging through more trees we ended up in the biggest meadow in the Sierra Nevadas and got to cross the Kern River a few times. That night we camped by the river and nearly froze our asses off in the sub freezing temperatures. We got the fire started back up the next morning, enjoyed some breakfast, packed up, and headed back out to civilization. On the way home we all stopped for some tasty food at the Texas Cattle Co in Ridgecrest which is where we all split ways to our final destinations. Here is a video.
