Went camping this past weekend with Dan, Laura, their two kids and Kurt and Nichole. We headed out past Moapa to the Riverside exit where we started down on Gold Butte Rd. Evening came and it was time to pick a spot to camp. We choose to camp just south of the ghost town of Gold Butte. The next morning we were up bright and early to get started on towards Scanlon Dugway and then to Lake Mead. Conditions on Scanlon Ferry Rd kept us to a crawl and we didn’t make it to the dugway till after noon. After descending the dugway and continuing a few more miles we decided we’d better call it a day and turn around. We’ll get to the lake next time!
